Face to Face
A quick posting this to let everyone know that in our relentless attempt to be as web 2.0 as possible Liz Allen has just established a PLoS group on Facebook. I’m not completely sure what we are going to get up to over there but all of you with Facebook accounts come and join us and find out.
Given the origins of Facebook–academia–and the user base–undergraduate and graduate students–this is a great forum in which to advertise. You may not see any immediate returns, but as we (the Facebook user base) all begin moving forward in our careers we will hopefully remember what PLoS is about when we go to publish.
The more intelligent and coherent PLoS-related research and conversation that is generated, the greater your future returns will be.
While I’m curious to hear what senior members of academia think about this move toward 2.0, they are very unlikely to be reading this post. Those that would also not likely represent the main group that oppose this, either.
Best of luck in this!
I have managed to avoid thinking about “web 2.0” Why is it good, and why should we want to do this?
